Hustle Region Preview: Team Creation
We may be in the middle of high school basketball season but it’s not too early to look ahead to what’s coming up on the AAU circuit. Over the next few months we will be taking a look at the teams that will be participating in the PrepHoops Circuit Hustle Region and here’s a look at Team Creation.
Team Creation will have teams in the 17U and 14U divisions of the Hustle Region. They will be participating in the #HustleSzn Kickoff, Bash in the Desert, and Hustle Region Finals.
Here’s a transcript of a conversation we had with coach Oscar Calix.
Why did you start your program? How long have you been around?
I started our program in 2016 and have been growing since. I wanted to give the kids in our area a platform to showcase their talent, and get exposure. We have a lot of kids in our area with talent that isn’t being seen like it should.
What is the goal of your program for 2019?
Our goal is to help kids improve their game on the court and teach them valuable life skills off the court.
What is your program’s mission each year?
To grow as a whole, and prepare our kids for the next level.
Do you know of any players that will be back in your program this year? Who should we have our eye on?
-2019 – Cade Alger – 6’8” G/F
-2020 – David Stallworth- 5’9” G
-2021 – Logan Kottinger – 5’11” G
-2021 – Eddie Cotton – 6’4” G/F
Why did you choose the Prep Hoops Circuit?
We decided to go with Prep Hoops because of the competition that comes through this circuit. We want to push our selves to play some tough competition while also getting the exposure our kids deserve.
