The Dr. Pepper Classic this season will features IMG Academy (FL), Holy Spirit Prep, McCallie School (TN), Darlington (GA), Hamilton Heights (TN), and Notre Dame (TN). It is a two day event that will run from February 1-2nd and be played at the McCallie School in Chattanooga, Tennesseee.
Coach Anderson and his Cougars will be facing two of the southeast’s best programs in Hamilton Heights (TN) and powerhouse IMG Academy (FL). Their first matchup against Hamilton Heights (TN) will be on Friday night at 6pm local time. Hamilton Heights will be coming into this one with a nice 25-3 overall record and feature one of the top available seniors in the country in 2019 C Jason Jithoboh, a 6-foot-10 forward who holds offers from Central Florida, Louisville, Tennessee, Illinois, Florida, and others.
Their second matchup on Saturday will be against IMG Academy (FL) on Saturday night at the same time, 6pm local time. IMG Academy features three 2019 McDonald’s All American’s, UNC commit C Armando Bacot Jr., C Villanova commit Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, and Arizona commit SG Josh Green. This IMG squad probably have the best starting five in high school basketball this season with 2020 guards Noah Farrahkhan and Jaden Springer filling out the backcourt.
The Cougars will be coming into this one with a 12-13 overall record and have faced the best of the best all year long. Their record might not show they are talented but this group is definetly a talented group headlined by their star 2019 SG Anthony “Ant-Man” Edwards, who was just recently named a 2019 McDonald’s All American.
