Some argue the GWOC East is the strongest division within the GWOC. The top 2 teams in Division I this year in Dayton came from the East division. Below is our picks for All Conference in the loaded GWOC East this season.
1st Team
Ryan Hall (2019)- Fairmont- 18 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists
The floor general for the Firebirds, Hall is our GWOC East Player of the Year. An elite on-the-ball defender and talented scorer, Ryan has received a spike in his recruitment because of his play and has earned his Player of the Year honors.
RaHeim Moss (2019)- Springfield- 18 points, 7 rebounds, 3 steals
A strong, physical guard, Moss has tremendous size and utilizes his dribble drive on the offensive end. RaHeim has offers to play Division I football, but has named Spire Academy as a final landing place next season.
Kellan Bochenek (2019)- Fairmont- 16 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists
The second guard in a talented Firebird backcourt. Kellan has a dagger of a 3PT shot and has added plenty of bounce to his game. A lockdown defender, Bochenek has received interest from NAIA schools and could find himself on a D2 team’s radar as well.
Ronnie Hampton (2019)- Wayne- 16 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists
The senior leader for the Warriors, the lefty guard is a great on-the-ball defender and has vastly increased his offensive game. He finished 1st in the conference in assists and 5th in steals. Ronnie is definitely a D3 caliber player and should be on several team’s radars.
Mo Njie (2020)- Centerville- 9 points, 6 rebounds, 3 blocks
Centerville’s big man got off to a slow start during the season, but has exploded on the scene especially recently. He is truly one of the best low post players in the conference and finished 3rd in blocks. Mo already had several D1 offers, and just picked up another offer from VCU.
2nd Team
Matt Pearce (2019)- Centerville- 12 points, 2 rebounds, 48% 3PT
A lefty shooting guard, Pearce stepped up this season and continued to show he is a consistent scoring threat for the Elks. Matt isn’t afraid to play physical with other backcourt players, and could find himself on a few collegiate radars before the end of the year.
David Sanford (2019)- Springfield- 14 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists
A little under-the-radar player for the Wildcats, Sanford is still a very talented senior guard. Possessing a great jump shot, Sanford gives the Wildcats their advantage on the perimeter. A key component on both ends of the floor for Springfield.
Ryan Marchal (2019)- Centerville- 9 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists
A quick, high IQ point guard for the Elks. Marchal has established himself as one of the better backcourt players in the GWOC. Ryan will be playing for Huntington Prep’s Post Grad team next season.
Jalan Minney (2020)- Springfield- 9 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists
A talented point guard, Minney made the most of his first season with the Wildcats. At 6’2, Jalan has great size and has shown he can score the ball extremely well. Will step into a much bigger role in his senior year.
Rashad McKee (2019)- Wayne- 13 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists
A pretty good guard for the Warriors, McKee is also a great QB. Rashad has a great jump shot and will play a big role for the Warriors if they advance in the tournament.
