Game Day Match-Up: Brandon Valley vs SF Roosevelt
Tonight #3 Sioux Falls Roosevelt hosts #4 Brandon Valley in a rematch of the early January 64-53 victory earned by the Lynx. PHD preps for the contest with Game Day Match-Up!
SF Roosevelt vs Brandon Valley
PG: Tyler Feldkamp (6-foot-0 sophomore guard) vs Nate Keegan (6-foot-0 senior guard). Tyler Feldkamp and Nate Keegan are both hard working guards that have had coaches rave about the work they’ve put in. Feldkamp is known statewide for his athletic ability both on the court, and on the hardwood. Keegan has become one of the more respected players in the two leagues as a worker/role player.
Wing 1: Adam Kusler (6-foot-2 junior wing) vs Jackson Hilton (6-foot-2 senior guard). Kusler and Hilton are different types of players. Kusler is a well known football recruit as a physical linebacker who has been performing on a big stage most his life. He’s looking better each game coming back from injury. Hilton on the other hand has waited his turn and is the very definition of taking advantage of his chances. As a senior Jackson is scoring over a dozen a game hitting 36 percent of his shots at the arc.
Wing 2: Carson Devericks (6-foot-3 senior wing) vs Carter Olthoff (6-foot-3 senior wing). Devericks is coming off a 14 point game against Pierre when his early production helped build a massive lead. Devericks has been one of the top Roosevelt scorers all season. Olthoff is scoring 14.7 points per contest shooting 49 percent from the floor and knocking down the occasional trey.
Wing 3: Tucker West (6-foot-5 senior forward) vs Evan Talcott (6-foot-3 senior wing). Tucker West has played some of his best basketball in the Roosevelt biggest games of the year. Chances are when Roosevelt had a big win Tucker was producing double figure numbers with his pretty touch. He will need that tonight to match Evan Talcott, Talcott leads BV in scoring, rebounding, and assists producing his 17 a night on 51 plus percent field goal shooting and 46 percent makes at the arc. Talcott is having a fantastic senior year.
C: Aidan Evans (6-foot-7 senior post) vs Alex Tietjen/Gavin Terhark (6-foot-7/6-foot-8 senior post). Aiden Evans has been a nice story this year with improved confidence and improved consistency inside. Evans has given Roosevelt more production inside while Tietjen is part of a group that plays inside. Tietjen has the veteran edge earning a start in about 13 minutes a game. Terhark comes off the bench and scores about three times a game.
6th Man – Tucker Large (5-foot-10 sophomore guard) vs Joe Kolbeck (6-foot-0 sophomore guard).
Large and Kolbeck are talented sophomore guards gaining experience with 13-15 bench minutes a night. Both are handling the ball more with consistent decision making plus becoming key parts of the rotation. Bright futures, but providing good minutes now.
