In Florida, a large group of prospects have emerged and shown quick development and promise.
Here is the first part of the freshman standout lists from Florida.
Ryan Nembhard (Montverde)
Offers from UF and Stanford have come for 6’1″, 155 lb. Montverde guard Ryan Nembhard. The younger brother of current UF freshman and former Montverde standout Andrew Nembhard, Ryan has similar qualities as an intelligent passer and heads up driver to the rim. He plays with poise and a solid understanding of movements and the next best pass for his offense. Well ahead of the pack, Nembhard will only get stronger and smarter and that bodes very well for his future.
Demari & Jacari Henderson (Sanford Seminole)
Division I schools (UF,UCF, LSU, Oregon and Texas among them) were in the gym all summer to get ahead of others on 2022 Seminole twins Demari and Jacari Henderson. The two haven’t earned an offer yet, but they’ve talked endlessly about playing together at the next level. Demari is slightly at 5’11” while Jacari is 5’10”. The two play so fast and so hard and seem to always keep Seminole in games. The arrow is pointing up quickly for the Henderson twins.
Greg Glenn III (Calvary Christian)
At 6’7″, Ft. Lauderdale Calvary Christian athlete Greg Glenn III is a jumbo guard who can handle a ton of verbiage and pressure as a leader already. Spending time a year ago with the varsity team as an 8th grader, Glenn III averaged 3.6 PPG in 14 appearances. Fast forward to this season and the 205-pounder has 13 double digit games (four 20 point outings) while averaging 13.8 PPG and 7.8 RPG. Glenn III holds an offer from Iowa State.
Amen & Ausar Thompson (Pine Crest)
The twins down south, Amen and Ausar Thompson both stand at 6’4″ and are doing impressive things for Pine Crest this season. The tweeners can play both guard and forward and are almost interchangeable most times. The Thompson twins are both gifted ballhandlers and guys that can win 1-on-1 battles even right now with their thin but long frames. No offers have come yet for the freshmen twin duo.
Jarace Walker (IMG)
An intimidating talent at 6’6″, 220 lbs., the most common question asked when first-timers see Jarace Walker play states “is he really a freshman?” The answer is yes he is. The 2022 IMG guard has been earning more and more playing time as the season has moved forward. A naturally strong athlete, Walker is working on his ballhandling skills and jumper. He’s an impressive attacker and dunker and should only get better from here. Walker has one offer from Howard as of now.
