With plenty of prospects on the floor, we knew that it would an exciting game and one that college coaches would drop in to see. Trinity of Durham struck first, taking a one point lead at the end of the 1st but Freedom Christian would respond and take the lead into the half by three points, 28/25. Freedom extended their a lead a bit going into the 3rd but the 4th quarter was where we saw separation and a bit of tired legs come in with Freedom taking home the win 64/51.
Trinity of Durham Senior Forward Marcotis Hall: He has somewhat of an unorthodox game but you have to respect how well he gets the job done on a consistent basis. At 6’6 ish he can play inside the paint as well as outside knocking down the deep ball, on the defensive end he can the 3-5 positions well which is something that college coaches should love.
Trinity of Durham Senior Forward Brandon Arnold: Williams College got a good one when they picked up their commitment from this young man. He has a very nice skillset at a legit 6’7 he can knock down shots, finish inside the paint and has good upside. In the first half of the game he was outstanding, scoring the ball in multiple ways and scoring 13 out 15 of his points in that half.
Trinity of Durham Senior Guard Noah Dinkins: He got off to a slow start in this game, but we liked the fact that he didn’t allow that to keep him from being aggressive. As the game went on, he continued to attack the defense and the ball began to drop in for him. He finished with 15 points on the night, with 10 out of 15 coming in the 2nd half.
Freedom Christian Senior Guard Brandon Murray: This was one of the better showing that we saw from Brandon Murray this year, he knocked down shots with efficiency and was one of the team’s leading scorers with 14 points. What really stood out to us was the fact that he didn’t settle for jump shots this game, instead he attacked the basket, which made it harder for the defense to guard him.
Freedom Christian Senior Guard Thomas Miles: He didn’t score the ball at a high rate but he did an outstanding job of facilitating to teammates as he finished with a high amount of steals and assist. Freedom has a nice amount of scorers so he took on the role of getting everybody else going which worked out very well for the squad. JC and NAIA programs have dropped in to see him play as he is a player that can play on the next level without a doubt.
Freedom Christian Junior Forward Aymeric Toussaint: One of the top rebounders on the day, he pulled down 12 rebounds to go along with 9 points on the night. He has a nice skillset and at 6’9, he’s a player that catches your attention almost immediately due to how well he moves on the court for a player his size. He had one of the plays of the day with a poster dunk in the second half over a defender that was just about as tall as he was.
Freedom Christian Senior Forward Dushan Dordevic: Certain players are the type of performers that you notice more in the box score after the game than during the game. They don’t have a lot of flair to their game but they simply get things done on a nightly basis, and Dushan is one of those guys. He sets screens, rebounds, finished inside and played his role very well, finishing with 14 Points and 5 rebounds on the night.
Freedom Christian Junior Guard Ambaka Le Gregam: Another player from overseas that has gotten adjusted to the American game more as we have seen him this season. He is what you would call a craft player, as he has a good amount of moves and counters that keeps defenders guessing. His numbers of 9 points and 6 rebounds aren’t jaw dropping but this young man can flat out play the game.
