Terrance Williams Is Playing His Best Ball
Williams has an impressive outing against St. John’s to secure the 3 spot in the WCAC regular season finale. Williams finished with 25 points and brought in 10 rebounds. He outworked everybody in the post on St. John’s and finished well around the rim. It did not matter who was guarding Williams, he was going to score over them.
Casey Morsell Continued To Play Like The WCAC Player Of The Year
A lot of people thought it was not going to be Morsell’s night as he was struggling with his shot in the 1st half and only had 5 points at halftime. However, that was not the case. The 2019 Virginia commit scored 29 points in the 2nd half and finished with 34 points to end the game. It was one of the best performances I have seen from Morsell and I have been watching him closely for three years now. He had 6 triples and half of those were either from NBA range or with defenders all in his face. He also drew tons of fouls and got a lot of points from the free throw line.
Chuck Harris Continues To Impress
If Chuck Harris is scoring the ball the way he did against St. John’s, it is just one more option Steve Turner can go to and makes the Eagles even more of a tough out. He has a very good floater and has been hitting tough runners in the lane. He also hit two three pointers which is allowing him to play his best ball at the most important time of year.
St. John’s Needs More Darius Maddox
If St. John’s wants to make a run this weekend in the WCAC tournament, they need Darius to play a full complete game. The past two games he has had a great 1st quarter, decent 2nd quarter, but not that relevant in the 2nd half. Maddox has the capability to hit shots for the Cadets and they will need him to do that this weekend.
Gonzaga Is My Pick To Win The WCAC Tournament
I am predicting a rematch of the WCAC Championship game from last year between DeMatha and Gonzaga but I am predicting Steve Turner’s bunch to come out on top this year. DeMatha has been shaky the past two weeks and I just do not feel confident in the Stags right now. They certainly have the talent and best team on paper to win the tournament and I will not be surprised at all if Mike Jones can lead his team to a second straight crown. But I have more confidence in the team that has only lost once in it’s last 15 games and is a team that seems completely locked in when it matters the most.
