They were impressive on defense and fluid on offense which led to big time win over Wayne Christian. All is not lost for Wayne Christian, as they have some young talent that has a chance to be good and have gained some very valuable playing experience this year.
Fayetteville Academy Guard John Michael-Wright: Gets to where he wants on the court, once he gets a head of steam he is difficult to guard. Knocked down shots, attacked to the basket as well as defended at a high rate.
Fayetteville Academy Wing Cam Billups: Had one of his better showings of the season, scored the ball at a high rate and high efficiency. When he’s locked in on both ends of the floor he can be a player that is very beneficial to the squad.
Fayetteville Academy Forward Williams Oyeondi: Recently he was offered by Barton College and we got a small glimpse of what he can do on the next level. Rebounding the ball at a high level, playing with a high motor and defending multiple positions are all things he can do well.
Fayetteville Academy Forward/Center Emmanuel Izunabor: He continues to get better each time we get the chance to see him. Rebounding, finishing, blocking shots are all things that he does well, one thing about him that you have to like is that he is that he doesn’t try to do more than he’s capable of. He plays his role on his team to the best of his ability and brings a high amount of effort every night.
Fayetteville Academy Wing Amari Pearson: One of the highest motor players whenever he steps on the court. He takes whatever player he is matched up with personally, getting after it on the defensive end of the floor for steals and deflections.
Wayne Christian Guard Jaydon Young: He has plenty of potential and although he didn’t have a ton of points you can see the upside in his game. Throughout the season he has put up some nice numbers, his size his good for a Guard and he will grow some more over time.
Wayne Christian Guard Jayquan Curry: Another young player that has good upside and will be one to keep an eye on. He has solid ball handling skills, plays the game in and unselfish way, and draws fouls at a pretty high rate.
