The Panthers came into this game ranked the number one team in 6A, while the Mustangs were ranked at the number seven spot. The last time these two teams met, Duncanville won by two points at their home arena. This game (similar to the last matchup) was also decided in the last two minutes. Duncanville held on to their fourth quarter lead and snapped the Mustangs two-year winning streak at home. This win extends the Panthers winning streak to fifteen and keeps them undefeated in UIL 6A District VIII.

Player Breakdown
Micah Peavy / 6’7″/ SF / Duncanville / 2020
The four-star wing lived at the rim and did all of his damage scoring inside. Peavy is one of the best off-ball transition players in his class. He recently announced that he will be cutting his list of schools to five sometime soon. The junior wing led the Panthers in scoring with 21 points.
Drew Timme / 6’10″/ C / Richardson J.J. Pearce / 2019
The Gonzaga signee came into the game being the only basketball player in the Dallas-Fort Worth area ranked top ten in scoring, rebounding, and assists. Once again, he stuffed the statsheet in order to help his team stay in the game. He was (as usual) unstoppable once he received a paint touch and was a whirling dervish with his spin moves inside. His size and skill has been a problem for every team he has faced this season. However, his game-high of 27 points was not enough to earn his team the victory. Look for him to lead Pearce as they close out the season and (likely) finish second in district play.
Jahmi’us Ramsey / 6’4″/ SG / Duncanville / 2019
It was a somewhat quiet night for Ramsey offensively, but he can always be counted on to lock-up his man on the defensive end. He is compared to current Boston Celtic and former Texas high school basketball legend Marcus Smart for his competitiveness and tough on-ball defense. The four-star guard uses his strength and lateral quickness to stay in front of his man. Factors that will translate from the jump once he begins his career at Texas Tech next fall. He was not up to his average 19 points per game, but was still able to finish with 11 points in the win.
Damon Nicholas / 6’4″/ SF / Duncanville / 2021
The sophomore had his outside game working in his favor Friday night. He knocked down three spot-up long balls off the catch. Nicholas also was active on the boards and made a couple of plays defensively to impact the game. He fouled out in the final minutes and finished with a productive 11 points in the district matchup.
