Lower State
Lake Marion HS (Santee) vs Marion HS
The Gators (3-15) have to travel up to play the Swamp Foxes (15-9). The Swamp Foxes have gotten the past month behind the play of T.J. Sanders, Mac Washington and Tariq Nowlin. Sanders was recently named Region Player of the Year.
Pelion HS vs Georgetown HS
The Panthers (15-10) will travel down to the coast to play the Bulldogs (18-8). Malcolm Davis runs the point and is the leader of the Panthers offense. The Bulldogs will counter with Darrell Gardner and Jerry Dorsey both averaging 12.2 ppg for Head Coach Mike Ford.
Dillon HS vs Ridgeland-Hardeeville HS
The Wildcats (6-11) will travel down I-95 for 172 miles to play the Jaguars. The Jaguars (22-3) will counter with the senior trio of Devin Butler 14.3 ppg, Rashamel Butler 13.9 ppg and Ny’gel Boozer.
Bishop England HS vs Edisto HS (Cordova)
The Battling Bishops head over to Orangeburg County to play the Cougars. The Battling Bishops (13-11) will rely on Aidan McCool for offense. The Cougars coached by longtime Head Coach Herman Johnson play committee basketball.
Gilbert HS vs Manning HS – Played last night
These two teams played last night with Manning HS winning 70-48. Corey Graham led the way with 19 points, Jordan Louden added 17 points while Israel Brown chipped in with 11 points. The Monarchs move to (21-3) on the season.
Wade Hampton HS (Hampton) vs Lake City HS
The Red Devils (14-7) travel up to the Pee Dee and play the Panthers (14-9).
Hanahan vs Strom Thurmond HS
Hanahan HS (6-18) will have to get senior leadership from Logan Ammons to win on the road. Jamarvious Jones a Spartanburg Methodist College commit leads the Rebels offense at 21.4 ppg this season. Jones has scored 1,490 career points.
Loris HS vs May River HS (Bluffton)
Jahrique Isaiah and William Hemingway will take the Lions (13-7) to Bluffton to play in the opening round game. The distance between the 2 schools is 230 miles – roughly 3 hours – 45 minutes for a opening round playoff game. Isaiah is averaging 15.8 ppg and Hemingway 12.5 ppg.
