High Point Academy (Spartanburg) 81 Hunter-Kinard-Tyler HS (Neeses) 71
The Grizzlies will be heading to the Upper State Championship Game later this week. The Gizzlies were led in scoring by Jayden Byrd with 20 points and Isayah Owens added 19 points. The Grizzlies were playing their first game in the playoffs. The Grizzlies received a first round bye and then last week was awarded a forfeit win vs North HS.
The Trojans (17-10) were led in scoring by I’rek Hartwell with 29 points and Marlow Gilmore 22 points.
Great Falls HS 77 Denmark-Olar HS 61
The Red Devils (20-4) will make a trip back to the Upper State Championship for the first time since 2012. Kelton Talford led the charge with 26 points. Kell Brown added 18 points after connecting on 4 three pointers.
The Vikings finished the season at (17-11). Malik Palmer and Tony Nimmons both scored 12 points while Harold Johnson finished with 11 points.
Bethune-Bowman HS 60 Charleston Math & Science 51
The Mohawks have won 11 games in a row and a berth in the Lower State Championship Game this coming Saturday. The Mohawks were led in scoring by Jarrel Brown with 19 points, Braxton Wedgeworth 15 points,12 rebounds and Javier King added 7 points and 9 rebounds.
Wendell Seabrook scored 14 points in the Riptide loss
Hemingway HS 78 CE Murray HS (Greeleyville) 55
The Tigers (16-9) will make a return trip to Florence this coming Saturday. Nigil Singletary led the Tigers with 22 points, Darius Taylor 15 points, Aaron Parker 12 points and Darius “JuJu” Williams 11 points. Williams will play football next season at Middle Tennessee State University.
Sonai Edwards scored 15 points for the War Eagles in the loss.
