Who is hoping to get back on track in hopes of a late-season push? Whatever the motives are, there are bound to be big games every night from here on out.
Here are some of the big ones this week in Class A:
Jamestown vs. Bismarck – Tuesday, Feb. 5
Jamestown is in complete control and running away with the WDA regular season title. At this point, the Bluejays could very well be eyeing up an undefeated regular season. This should – at least on paper- be a challenging week as they’ll host Bismarck and Minot (one of the two teams they’ll probably see in the second game of a postseason league tournament). Bismarck kept it close with Jamestown earlier in the year and has the kind of experience and talent necessary to steal a win.
West Fargo Sheyenne vs. West Fargo – Friday, Feb. 8
First place in the EDC is still up for grabs as Davies and the West Fargo schools have all lost once with each team going 1-1 against the other two. Sheyenne beat West Fargo back in December in a nip-and-tuck affair and clearly both teams are playing at a different level now. It’s a contrasting styles kind of game and should be a lot of fun. Both teams are led by potential Players of the Year in Christian Kuntz (Sheyenne) and Luke Lennon (West Fargo).
Bismarck Century vs. Bismarck Legacy – Saturday, Feb. 9
Bismarck Century is on fire while Bismarck Legacy has come back to the pack a little bit. For the Sabers, this is an opportunity to reestablish some good vibes with a win over a team considered above them. The Patriots would like to keep things rolling towards the final stretch of the season with the No. 2 spot in the WDA still up for grabs.
