High Point Academy defeated North HS by forfeit. North HS had 11 players leave the bench in a playoff game earlier this week vs McBee HS. North HS was ruled ineligible to play with do to the lack of players.
The High Point Academy Grizzlies will advance to the Final 4 of the Upper State next week without yet playing a game. The Grizzlies had a 1st Round Bye.
Hunter-Kinard-Tyler HS 81 Timmonsville HS 68 .
I’rek Hartwell (2020) led the Trojans with 33 points while Marlow Gilmore (2019) added 22 points and 13 rebounds. Gilmore improves his career scoring totals to 1,812 points. The Trojans improve to (17-9) on the season.
Christian Taylor scored 24 points for the Whirlwinds (14-13). Jamaric Morris a Georgia Military College Football signee scored 23 points in his last game as a basketball player.
Great Falls HS 86 Dixie HS 52
Kelton Talford (2020) guided the Red Devils with 25 points and RonJ Stevenson added 21 points in the victory.
Denmark-Olar HS 72 vs McCormick HS 51
The Vikings move in the semifinals next week to play Great Falls HS. Harold Johnson (2020) led the way with 27 points for the Vikings (17-10).
Lower State
Bethune Bowman HS 61 vs Creek Bridge HS 38
The Mohawks advance to the semifinals with the win. Braxton Wedgeworth (2019) added 17 points, Bradley Washington (2021) added 14 points and Raekwon Richburg chipped in with 11 points.
Charleston Math & Science 60 Lake View HS 50
The Riptide advance to the Lower State Semifinals with the win over the Wild Gators. Wendell Seabrook (2020) led the way with 12 points in the win.
Hemingway HS 78 vs Scott’s Branch HS 65 (Summerton)
Darius “JuJu” Williams (2019) returned to the Tigers roster and scored 20 points in the win. Williams a Middle Tennessee State Football signee had left the program for a awhile. Aaron Parker (2020)scored 14 points while Darius Taylor (2019) and Nigil Singletary both added 13 points while Dashaquavious Cooper (2020) added 10 points.
CE Murray HS (Greeleyville) 49 vs Lowcountry Leadership 45 (Hollywood)
The War Eagles win another one over a Charleston area team. The War Eagles (10-11) will now face Hemingway HS in the Lower State Semifinals. Soani Edwards scored 11 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in the victory.
