No. 5 Etiwanda scored a “mild upset” when it knocked off 4 seed Rancho Verde on the road Friday night.
In the other Pool A game set for Tuesday night, Bishop Montgomery makes another Torrance to Riverside County bus ride when it travels to Moreno Valley takes on host Rancho Verde.
Rancho Christian’s perimeter offense was pretty much shut down Saturday night and the likes of Luke Turner, Jordan Montgomery and Dominick Harris don’t figure to get a whole lot of open looks, either, against an Etiwanda man-to-man defense led by sophomore Jahmai Mashack (PICTURED) and juniors Camren Pierce and Darryl Jackson.
The 6-foot-4 will also get the unenviable opportunity to guard the Twin Towers of Mobley, senior Isaiah and junior Evan.
And 6-9 senior Legend Stamps will also be guarding either of the Mobleys all evening for Coach Dave Kleckner’s squad.
