Rolling Hills Prep (26-6) of San Pedro, which knocked off Santa Clarita Christian in the 3AA finals, visits Ontario Thursday to take on 2A champion Colony.
There should be some terrific individual matchups in this one, notably those involving one of the state’s best players in 6-foot-3 Sedrick Altman (PICTURED) of Colony, who committed to Pepperdine a few weeks ago.
But Rolling Hills counters with some very good players of its own, notably 6-6 senior Chris Koon and juniors in 6-7 J.T. Tan and 6-2 Vaughn Flowers.
Altman is one of the most spectacular players on any level of high school hoops while Flowers is one of the most underrated point guards in the western Class of 2020.
In other D-II quarterfinals Thursday night, Santa Clarita Christian visits top seed Rancho Cucamonga (which had a bye Tuesday), No. 4 Valencia plays host to San Diego Division I champion Cathedral Catholic (which starters four exceptional sophomores) and another San Diego Section squad, Santa Fe Christian, visits Riverside to play Notre Dame.
Santa Fe Christian has an exceptional jump shooter in junior Sam Dudley (the son of former NBA center Chris Dudley) while Notre Dame is led by Fresno State-bound swingman Anthony Holland.
