- Carmel Christian is the top seed and that is not much of a surprise to anybody that has seen them this season. They are loaded with D1 talent and have played a tough schedule all while putting together a record of 28-3 on the season. Seniors Donovan Gregory, Myles Pierre and Marten Maide are just a few of the players that you have to watch out for on this team that can have multiple guys go off at any given moment.
- The #2 spot is held down by Concord First Assembly, they are a team that has put together 26 wins on the season and will be dangerous throughout the playoffs. They have a good amount of size to go along with skilled players and are one of the more disciplined teams in the state. Junior Garrett Hien is one of the players on the team that has shown consistent production with an average of 12 points and 8 Rebounds a night.
- Village Christian at #3 is a team that has moved up from 2A to 3A but we feel they have all the pieces to make a deep run in the playoffs. They have legit scoring at the Guard Spot in Travion McCray, scoring on the wing in Justin Thomas and size with Derrick Quansah. Not having Guard Zavian Mclean will be tough as he is a 20+PPG guy with a high motor so others will need to step up in his absence.
- Cape Fear Academy comes in at the #4 spot, they are coming off a conference tournament championship recently and should be riding the momentum into the state tournament. They have a high amount of international talent and size on their squad, with some of the main producers such as Georges Lefebvre and Chatham Lambiotte being underclassman.
- Fayetteville Christian at the #5 spot has had one of the best bounce back seasons for a team in the state this year. They reached the conference semis in one of the toughest conferences in the state and have some quality wins on their resume’. If they want to make a deep run, they will need stellar play from their 2020 Wing Jaden Scriven who has been playing at a high level.
- #6 is High Point Christian, who had some players transfer out prior to the season but have plenty of talent in their own right and will be a team that only will get better in the next few years. Sophomore PG KJ Garrett is one name that you should already know as he is a legit D1 caliber prospect. Junior Forward Zach Shumate is a player that we like, he can rebound the ball but is also a pick and pop type guy that can knock down the trey ball.
