- Fayetteville Academy is the #1 overall seed with a record 23-3, the Eagles don’t have a deep bench but have a solid 6/7 that they can depend on. Prior to their conference tournament championship game loss, they had compiled a 19 game winning streak so to say this team knows how to win games would be an understatement. Senior PG John Michael Wright, Forward William Onyeodi and Forward/Center Emmanuel Izunabor have all played at a high level this year and will be needed for the Eagles to take home the championship.
- Davidson Day comes in at the #2 spot and are a very dangerous team, they recently knocked off Carmel Christian who is a squad that has been dominate for pretty much all season. With a record of 19-4, they know how to win games and is a team that has a nice mixture of talent in various grades so don’t expect them to disappear in the coming years.
- Freedom Christian is the #3 seed, although their record is not the greatest, they played a very difficult schedule which was composed of multiple high level programs. They have some high level coaching and solid players that should help them put together a nice run in the playoffs, Junior Guard Manrique Alvarado is one that has played well for the Patriots for a good amount of the season.
- Gaston Day at the 5 spot is a team to keep an eye on, they have an outstanding shooter in sophomore Guard Dean Hunter as well as some solid guard play from Kai Benton and Michael Collins. As we know, guard play in the state tournament is huge so we fully expect this squad to make a run.
- Trinity School of Durham and Chapel Hill at the #6 spot with a record of 20-4 is another team that we feel can be dangerous. They have some nice pieces to their squad which include Senior Guard Noah Dinkins who is averaging just under 18 PPG while Senior Forward Brandon Arnold has shown promise, including a 25 Point game in the conference championship.
- Last but not least is Trinity Academy who features top Forward in the country Isaiah Todd. The Tigers come in at #7 with a record of 21-11, they struggled early on in the season but seem to be getting better as of late as they have taken some top teams to the wire. Anytime you have a player that caliber of Todd on your team as well other players who can step up and make plays, you can’t count them out.
