BOK Showcase Central
The BOK Showcase is the premier event in the Tulsa area each winter. This year the field featured four compelling boys games. The Prep Hoops team was in town providing score updates, video highlight, and analysis. Check out the completed games below!
FINAL: Metro Christian 41 Regent Prep 36
Metro Christian fended off Regent Prep’s second-half comeback. After trailing 25-9 at the half, Regent Prep got going on offense behind the playmaking abilities of David Buskirk. The Rams tied the game at 34 late in the fourth quarter, but could not overcome their slow start. Metro Christian had several players who were battling the flu all week long. For the Patriots it was not in the fashion they may have hoped for, but they did finish the game with huge free-throws. Metro Christian netted zero field goals in the fourth quarter and just two in the second half. The quick Guards led by Zach Mershon gave Metro Christian scoring opportunities driving the ball strong to the rim. As the playoffs approach no one will want to find themselves playing against these two programs in March.
FINAL: Owasso 60 Bartlesville 48
Seth Pomeroy led the way for the Rams with 21 points and a plethora of assists to go along with his scoring. Tayo Dina poured in 27 huge points for Bartlesville in the tough loss. The game was really never in question as Owasso made sure to keep their foot on the gas the entire way. The win marked the thirteenth victory on the season for Owasso.
FINAL: Tulsa Memorial 70 Edison 53
Tulsa Memorial defeated Edison behind Keylan Boone‘s 20 points. Teammates Kalib Boone and Will Hill had 19 and 15, respectively. Edison junior Loddie Combs led the way for the Eagles with 15 points, all of which came in the first half of play. Combs was spectacular from 3-point range, knocking down a pair of deep 3’s in the second quarter to keep Edison in the game. The Chargers, however, overpowered the Eagles at the end of the day by rebounding, defense, and team passing.
FINAL: Booker T. Washington 41 Sand Springs 33
Trey Phipps led all scorers with 20 points on Saturday evening as Booker T. Washington came out on the right side of the scoring book in a low-scoring match against the Sandites. Michael McHenry came away with a trio of big 3-pointers for the Hornets as well. Davon Richardson was the leading scorer in the loss for Sand Springs with 19 points, while teammate Josh Minney had 9 points for the Sandites. Both teams were coming off Friday nights wins; Sand Springs defeated Broken Arrow and Booker T. Washington defeated Sapulpa.
