All-Prep Hoops Team-Central Ohio D3:
CJ Anthony (6’1 / G 2020 / Harvest Prep): CJ Anthony is one of the most talented guards in Central Ohio, regardless of division. The Junior guard is already a 1,000 point scorer, which he reached just a hand full of games into the season. Putting up over 25 PPG, Anthony is a tough scoring guard. A matchup problem for any team they face, Anthony really hasn’t had a bad game this year. A season-low output of 14 points, is quite a number to hold. A tough guard, that can get to the hoop, or heat it up from long. The best D3 player in the area is a no-doubt selection.
Ben Casey (6’3 / W 2019 / West Jefferson): West Jefferson has just five losses this season, and Ben Casey is a major reason why. The Senior is a skilled wing who plays with a smooth feel for the game. Going for 19.1 PPG, Casey has the tools to light it up often, also quickly. A season-high of 34 pounds, Casey has shown what it takes to go for a big game. Also, going over the 20-point mark on 10 different occasions. A deserving selection for an All-Prep Hoops Team.
DJ Moore (6’3 / G 2022 / Worthington Christian): You won’t see many Freshman make post-season lists, but this newcomer is different. Bursting on to the scene with a 25 point showing in the Warriors second game, fans knew he was for real. On the year, putting up 18.8 points a contest for Worthington Christian. The Freshman has scored 20 or more points in seven game this season, already proving he’s a capable go-to player. Worthington Christian getting three more years of the stud Freshman will be huge. Moore has went above and beyond expectations this year.
Brian Collier (6’0 / G 2020 / Grandview Heights): Brian Collier was simply the best player on a solid Grandview team this season. The Junior showed big time improvement all around from his sophomore campaign. Collier kept the stable running when Junior Luke Lachey went down, which is the other part of the deadly Grandview duo. Averaging just under 18 points a game this year, the sharpshooting guard was on a mission. With seven games of 20 or more points, Collier was always a threat to go off for a big game. The 6-footer can score inside efficiently, an area he has added to his already sharp-shooting range. However, another well deserved pick.
Dallas Patrick (6’1 / G 2019 / Wellington): Dallas Patrick has been the heart of the Wellington team. However, as Patrick goes, is as Wellington goes a team. As, things have panned out well for both sides. Contributing 24.7 points a game this season, Patrick has shown why he’s one of the best scorers around. The Senior has scored below 20 points just three times. Also, which is impressive in it’s own right. Another D3 selection, a no-doubter at that.
Honorable Mention:
Luke Lachey – Grandview Heights
Nick Cunningham – Fredericktown
Mason Mollohan – Mt. Gilead
Owen Hazelbaker – Johnstown
Ethan Warner – Marion Pleasant
