In the D2 side of things, there was some tough picks, as many players stood out in the area!
All-Prep Hoops Team Central Ohio Division Two:
Morgan Safford (6’3 / WG 2019 / Bishop Hartley): Plain and simple, Morgan Safford is one of the toughest players in Central Ohio. One of the top unsigned players around, has lit it up this season. Close to 26 PPG, Safford is a high-level scorer for Hartley. A player that can score from all three dimensions, won’t be stopped often. In his last seven games, has has scored over 25 in each of them. Also, over 38 in three of them, an absolute tear to end the regular season. But, possibly playing with the most fire right now, Safford is a sure selection.
Otto Kuhns (6’3 / WG 2020 / Bloom-Carroll): A stud two-sport athlete, on the hardwood and gridiron, Kuhns gets things done. The athletic guard is putting up about 22.5 points per contest, as the Bulldogs best player. However, one of the best D2 scorers in the area, the Junior can let it fly with the best of them. Other then shooting lights out, has shown the athleticism this year to get to the rack. As a quick player, Kuhns has been a solid defender this season as well. Also, a player that you don’t want to have to gameplan for, as he lights it up on a consistent basis.
Isaiah Alsip (6’0 / CG 2020 / Galion): Isaiah Alsip hit his 1,000 point mark with a few games left in his junior year, showing just how much he can score it. The best pure scorer in the MOAC, is putting up just a bit over 20 PPG. Also, an all-State player in football, that athleticism transfers to the court well for him. A quick guard, that can blow by you, or pull up from anywhere. Dropping a season-high 40 points earlier this season, Alsip has been a gamer. Also, multiple of those 40+ point games in his career. A terror on the defensive side, garnering 2.7 steals a game to also lead his conference. However, Alsip is a two-way player, that has given everything this year.
Tronny Keaton (6’0 / G 2019 / Marion-Franklin): Over the past couple years, the Marion-Franklin Senior has been a walking bucket. One of the City-Leagues top scorers, responsible for over 21 PPG. Keaton may lack size, but that doesn’t affect his game. As he is a tough scorer who creates space, also scoring from anywhere. The guard has went for 25 or more points on five occasions, including a 35 point game. However, one of the best scoring guards around, doesn’t garner enough talk as he should. Anyhow, a well earned selection.
Na’Elle Simmons (6’7 / WF 2019 / Beechcroft): Beechcroft was able to be a solid team this year, even after losing a lot. Putting up over 16 points a game, Na’Elle was a big time impact. But, a big time force on defense, as well as snatching rebounds, Simmons has big time production in multiple ways. Also, one of the best multi-dimensional inside players in the area. However, the Beechcroft Senior big-man has went above and beyond this year.
