All-Basketball Football Team: Offense
Today is National Signing Day for college football. On this day every year we release our All-Basketball Football Team. To be considered for this the player must be a ranked and legit basketball prospect, but would make an outstanding football player. Here is our Offense!
QB – Anthony Sayles (Niles Notre Dame)
Sayles played QB at Niles Notre Dame this year as a sophomore and excelled as a dual threat. Good passer that can also make plays with his legs. Tua and Trevor Lawrence showed you can win with young QBs in the playoff. We will roll with Sayles!
RB – Jirehl Brock (Quincy)
Brock is headed to Iowa State next season as a running back. One of the top at the position in the country he is a physical runner that pounds the ball in between the tackles and has breakaway ability.
RB – Joseph Yesufu (Bolingbrook)
Yesufu will be our scat back. Although only 5’10” he has good strength and elite speed with the ball in his hands. Will use that on the gridiron as our pass catching running back running routes and being a check down guy for Sayles.
WR – Khailieo Terry (Champaign Central)
Terry is an elite level athlete with speed and about the best hops in the state. He will be a vertical threat that can high point catches in traffic with the best of them.
WR – EJ Liddell (Belleville West)
Liddell is a jumbo wide out at 6’7” that we can lineup in multiple formations to create mismatches. Elite second jump is the name of his game which will be utilized well in the end zone.
WR – Christian Shumate (Plainfield East)
Shumate is like a Keenan Allen type wide out. Size, speed, and has the ability to take the top off a defense while high pointing passes down the field.
Slot – Markese Jacobs (Uplift)
Quick twitched point guard will serve as our slot guy creating matchup problems against linebackers and defensive backs that try to cover him on quick breaking routes.
TE – Chris Payton (Bloomington)
Physical forward that is an elite level athlete. Perfect option as a pass catching tight end that will be a nightmare for opponents in the red zone.
OT – JJ Guedet (Washington)
Guedet is headed to Minnesota to play football. Skilled footwork on the hardwood translates over to the gridiron to protect our quarterback’s blindside.
OT – Devon House (Sterling Newman)
House is another big bodied post with excellent footwork and long arms. That makes him an ideal fit at right tackle.
G – Julian Campbell (Palatine)
Wide bodied post that should fit well on the interior off our offensive line. Has the size to anchor against pass rushing defensive lineman along with some mobility.
G – Kendrick Tchoua (Benet)
Tchoua is a mauler on the hardwood and that is exactly what we want on the right side of our offensive line at guard. Physical force that can pull in the run game.
C – Pavle Pantovic (DePaul Prep)
High IQ leader that will make calls at line of scrimmage to align our blocking schemes.
