All-Basketball Football Team: Defense
Today is National Signing Day for college football. On this day every year we release our All-Basketball Football Team. To be considered for this the player must be a ranked and legit basketball prospect, but would make an outstanding football player. Here is our Defense!
DE – Keith Randolph (Belleville West)
Randolph is a natural here as this is exactly what he will be doing at the next level playing defensive end for Illinois. Anchor in the run game at the point of attack who also has major potential as a pass rusher.
DE – Isaac Stanback (Homewood Flossmoor)
Quick twitched pass rusher with strength and elite athleticism. Stanback will be our ace pass rusher off the edge.
DT – DaChaun Anderson (Leo)
Anderson is a physical presence that has size, strength, and athleticism. He will be a great three technique pass rusher that can get up the field while also chasing in the run game.
DT – RJ Ogom (Homewood Flossmoor)
Ogom is a tough and well build post that on the gridiron will fit great as a defensive tackle with his strength and non-stop motor.
OLB – Ahamad Bynum (Simeon)
We put the sophomore on the outside of our linebacker unit with his ability to run sideline to sideline as well as lay the hammer.
MLB – Tyler Cochran (Bolingbrook)
At middle linebacker you need a smart player that can coordinate the defense along with a thumper in the run game. Cochran fills both of those.
OLB – LJ Johnson (Kenwood)
Johnson is a prototype outside linebacker with his high-motor and elite speed being able to both cover and run in space.
CB – Anthony Fairlee (Springfield Southeast)
Fairlee is a freak show athlete that we have always said would be an elite level corner. Speed to run with wide outs down the field along with high pointing balls.
CB – Marquise Kennedy (Brother Rice)
Technically sound basketball player who would also do the same at the corner position with his toughness and precise movements.
SS – Dashon Enoch (OPRF)
Hard hitting strong safety is what Enoch brings to the table. Also has the range to cover on the back end.
FS – Terrence Hargrove (East St. Louis)
Hargrove has the size, range, and hard hitting ability which make him an ideal free safety in our defense being able to cover a lot of ground.
