The Hartsville HS Red Foxes made the 2 hour trip down to the Grand Strand behind the strong play of University of South Carolina Gamecock signee Trae Hannibal. Hannibal put the Red Foxes on his back to a 74-71 victory.
MVP : Trae Hannibal (2019) – Hartsville HS (pictured on front)
Hannibal showed his physicality today for the Red Foxes with strong finishes at the rim. Hannibal scored 30 points on his way to a big road win. Hannibal a Gamecock signee for next season has the ability to over power guards while attacking the basket and really likes to play on contact.
Player of the Game : Cesare Edwards (2021) – Hartsville HS
Edwards came to play tonight for the Red Foxes. Edwards 6’9 showed his ability to step-out and play on the perimeter where he feels most comfortable playing. Edwards finished with 21 points
Best Seahawk in Uniform : Ayden Hickman (2021) – Myrtle Beach HS
Hickman kept the Seahawks in the game with some three point shooting. Hickman connected on 16 points and 4 three pointers. Hickman has good size playing off the ball.
Junior Class : Darius Hough, Emorie Knox and James Marques (2020) – Myrtle Beach HS
This trio all juniors scored 43 points in the close loss to the Red Foxes. Hough has returned from injury and played really well on the boards today while scoring 18 points. Knox a point guard scored just 9 points today but didn’t seem in sync in this game tonight. Marques is just constantly on the move and plays with soooo much energy. Marques gets so many loose balls and deflections in just effort alone. Marques finished with 16 points.
Playoffs :
Hartsville HS will now play Aiken HS in the opening round of the SCHSL Playoffs which start next week.
Myrtle Beach HS will travel across the state to play South Aiken HS.
