Shadow Mountain entered the game with a lot of energy, as usual. I wouldn’t expect anything less from a team led by Jaelen House. This was going to be the last time the dynamic duo of Blacksher and House took the floor together. Deer Valley had a great season but as I predicted, the Shadow Mountain press would be too much for the Deer Valley guards and hurt them offensively. Shadow Mountain won the game 64-38.
The Shadow Mountain squad finished the regular season 17-1 overall, 14-0 in conference play, and 10-0 in region play. Here are some key wins throughout the season:
Dec. 4 Seton Catholic 59-48 W
Dec. 8 Chicago Simeon 80-67 W
Dec. 14 Moon Valley 73-40 W
Dec. 20 Moon Valley 106-61 W
Jan. 5 Deer Valley 75-52 W
Jan. 10 Thunderbird 102-50 W
Jan. 15 Greenway 108-28 W
Feb. 15 Amphi 91-52 W
Feb. 22 Salpointe Catholic 77-70 W
Feb. 23 Deer Valley 64-38 W
