With that being said, we know that there is a ton of players to pick from so we are going to try and assist with the process of dropping a few names that colleges should be on.
Village Christian 2020 Wing Justin Thomas: He hasn’t been in NC for a long period of time but he has already shown that he is a legit prospect with plenty of potential. His ability to score the ball in multiple ways to go along with his height at 6’5 and a humble demeanor are all things that D1 programs will love.
Northwood Temple 2020 Guard Jamahri Harvey: He faced some injuries this year which threw things off for him a bit but once he became fully healthy, he has played at a high level. Has good size for a guard at about 6’4 and a long wingspan to go with the height, don’t be surprised to see him have a big time summer.
Piedmont Classical Guard Trent Mcintyre: This is a name that you will hear more and more about as time goes on. He has a nice natural feel for the game, can score the ball in multiple ways but also does a nice job of finding teammates. Another player that has good size for a guard, don’t be surprised to see his stock go up if he plays well this spring and summer.
Southwest Edgecombe Keishon Porter: Very athletic player that plays the game with a high motor and can defend multiple positions. He’s had quite a few games this season with monster numbers and his recruitment seems to be picking up slowly but surely.
Wakefield HS Khayre Cayne: He’s a project player but you have to like his upside of what he can possibly be. At this point we are unsure which post-grad program he will attend but he will a 2020 prospect, he’s a legit 6’9 with a very long wingspan and blocks shots at a high rate. He may not necessarily have a frame that can pack on muscle but continued work on his body will only help his production on the court.
Lumberton HS Guard Jordan McNeill: The fact that this young man doesn’t have more schools inquiring about him is a bit odd. He has been dominant throughout this entire season and is one of the top rebounding guards we have seen. With a good spring and summer he should pick up some more interest going into the high school season next year.
Village Christian Guard Zavian Mclean: He’s been hurt for the last few months but should be back at full strength for April and the summer time. Prior to his injury he was playing at a very high level and took home All-State honors for the NCISAA 3A level. His motor, athletic ability and scoring are all things that programs will like , Longwood and VMI are two that have already shown interest.
