20) Khai Seargant | 5’9” | Massaponax (#72 Overall)
Seargant is the kind of guy who will never be the biggest dude on the court but he’ll usually make the biggest impact. He’s a shifty, quick and tough guard who can break down defenders and create shots from all three levels. He’s able to finish over much bigger guys and he’s a dual threat at the point guard position who can score and distribute at will.
19) Jordan Lewis | 5’11” | Cox (#69 Overall)
Lewis is a throwback of sorts at the point guard position, the type of guy who doesn’t have to be the top scorer to impact the game in a big way. He’s extremely smart with the ball, he plays with good pace and changes speed well and he has a good middle game to keep defenders at bay. However, he’s best as a guy who defends the basketball hard and makes everyone on his team better.
18) Jordan Parham | 5’10” | Huguenot (#66 Overall)
When it comes to shooter, Parham is a special one because he can do it on and off the ball and he doesn’t need much space to get his shot off. He has range out to 25 feet and deeper, he gets hot quickly and he’s always ready to shoot the basketball. His ability to make tough shots and get his shots off even against the tightest of defense makes him very hard to guard.
17) Christian McLeod | 6’1” | Life Christian Academy (#65 Overall)
I wouldn’t say that McLeod is a true point guard, but he’s a playmaker with the ball in his hands and a dynamic athlete on both ends. He plays with good energy, he gets to the rim at will and he flys all over the court with his leaping ability. He has improved his jump shot over time and has a lot of defensive ability at his size as well.
16) Kahleef Jimmison | 5’11” | Woodside (#63 Overall)
A two sport star, Jimmison is an impressive athlete and not just in the explosive leaping way. He’s able to pick things up easily, he’s quick and smooth with his movements and he always seems to have an extra gear to him as well. He can score off the bounce at the rim and in the midrange and he’s a guy with a good feel and passing ability as well.
15) William Lee | 5’10” | Blue Ridge (#56 Overall)
Like most of these guys, I probably missed the boat on Lee in my first few times watching him and there’s a chance he’ll go up moving forward. He’s a strong and quick guard who plays on both ends and has the ability to heat up and score it quickly. He’s a good athlete and strong finisher and he’s able to spray it from deep off the catch or off the bounce.
14) Lamumba Howard | 5’11” | St. Stephen’s St. Agnes (#54 Overall)
Howard is a part of possibly the deepest group of 2020 players in the state at SSSAS, and while he comes off the bench for them he plays a pivotal role in his ability to make plays for others and set the tone in the press. He’s a super energy guy who’s scrappy defensively, has good feel offensively and thrives in transition where he can get out and finish.
13) Jarrett Hunter | 5’10” | Louisa (#51 Overall)
Another two sport star who’s pivotal to his team’s success, Hunter has led Louisa to be one of the top Class 4 teams in the area the last few years. He’s a guy who doesn’t care about being the leading scorer, but he’s a strong driver and good finisher in the midrange and through traffic with his strength. He’s a natural leader, he defends and rebounds at his position and he’s a competitor that will do anything to win.
12) Kenari Jones | 5’10” | Great Bridge Christian (#49 Overall)
Jones is quietly one of the state’s top scorers, and he’s capable of hanging 30 on any given night. He isn’t the biggest guy but he has a lightning quick first step, he’s bouncy and has good body control and he’s able to get to his spots out of isolation situations. He’s a good on ball defender as well and while he’s a capable creator he’s best if you just let him go and get busy.
11) Tim Montgomery | 5’11” | Portsmouth Christian (#48 Overall)
Montgomery has been getting it done in the 757 for some time now, and you know what you’re going to get out of him which a steady lead guard who makes plays and makes good decisions. In transition he has great vision, he gets you in your sets and runs them well and he’s able to get downhill and finish in the midrange and at the rim. He has a reputation for making others better and has been a part of winning programs in the past.
