Post season play in high school is a special thing. Everyone has one goal, and that goal is to keep playing. These players helped their teams advance and turned some heads while doing it.
JC Norris (Huntsville): This kid is such a competitor. The 6’1 combo guard scored over 15 points per game, shot over 40% from 3 on the season, and helped lead Huntsville to an Area title and Elite 8 appearance. Norris is a 2 way player who deserves a roster spot somewhere.
BJ Comer (PCA): Comer was electric for PCA this season. The 6’2 point guard capped his season averaging over 18 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists per game. Comer shot an impressive 40% from 3 as well. PCA fell in the Final 4 where BJ finished with 23-6-5.
Eddie Smith (Huffman): The best thing Eddie could do is help Huffman advance in the playoffs. He did just that. Eddie hit the game winner to send his team to the Elite 8. The 6’2 combo guard averaged over 15-4-3 on the season.
Cameron Tucker (Wenonah): Tucker has been stellar this season for the Dragons. He was named the NW Region MVP after a 18-4-6 performance. The point guard also came in clutch with a 22 point (10/12 FG) performance in a Final 4 win.
Justin Minter (Wenonah): Like his backcourt mate, Minter has been on a tear. In the NW Region Final, Justin finished with 18-7-4. In the Final 4 win, the kid was crucial on the defensive side. Minter finished with 14 points, 7 rebounds, 3 steals, and 3 blocks.
Kam Harris (Bessemer City): Kam proved he can play with anyone and lead Bessemer City to the sweet 16. Harris is a 6’1 combo guard who can score at all 3 levels. This kid is a warrior and will bring an instant offensive punch to a team.
Ahman Ellington (Hoover): The senior point guard has lead Hoover to the Final 4. In the NE Regional Final, Ellington poured in 27 points against Huntsville. Leading Hoover to a title game appearance would also help raise his stock.
Koby Tinker (Plainview): Tinker has shot the ball extremely well for Plainview this season. Plainview is playing for another 3A title. In the Final 4, Tinker finished with 20 points (4/11 from 3) and 3 steals. The 6’2 shooting guard would be a great fit at the D3 level.
