WICHITA, Kan. — With the season nearing the home stretch, Prep Hoops takes a look at several point guards in the Wichita area’s senior class who are putting together strong seasons.
Blake Danitschek, 6’4, G/F, 2021, Kapuan Mt Carmel
Danitschek has emerged this season as one of the Wichita area’s most talented youngsters with a well-rounded skill set, size and athleticism. He is a strong wing player who can shoot from the outside, handle the ball and can knock down outside shots. He is averaging 9 points per game, second on the team.
Keither Florence, 6’8, F/C, 2021, Wichita Heights @keither_r
Florence has good size, athleticism and has the ability to throw down dunks, rebounds and block shots. He teams with 2021 forward Danair Dempsey to form a tough 1-2 punch in the paint for Heights. Florence is averaging 7.1 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.2 blocks while shooting nearly 70 percent from the field.
Daylan Jones, 6’4, G/F, 2021, Wichita East @d2yl2n
Jones has good size, athleticism and the ability to do a variety of things well on the basketball floor. He defends, handles the ball well in transition and can score in a variety of ways. He is averaging 11.9 points, six rebounds, 2.1 assists and 2.0 steals per game this season.
Alex Littlejohn, 6’4, PF, 2021, Bishop Carroll
Littlejohn has emerged this season as one of the Wichita area’s most improved big men, bringing a terrific all-around skill set, the ability to score in the post, step out to the perimeter and knock down dhots and is a terrific passer as well. He is averaging 11 points, 8.4 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.5 steals per game while shooting 60 percent from the field.
Myles Thompson, 6’5, PF, 2021, Valley Central
Thompson is a strong, athletic, 6’5, 205-pound forward who is putting together a strong sophomore season, averaging nearly 15 points and 4.3 rebounds per game and is shooting nearly 50 percent from the field.
