The Whitney wildcats are off to a 13-5 start behind coach Nick French. With good wins against Folsom and Cordova. Also a very good win against Miramonte in overtime 77-76. The wildcats are primed and seasoned with upper classman talent to make another great conference run this year.
With great play from senior Issac Ackerman who has been leading the team at the point guard position. He leads the team in many other ways with solid play and taking charges. Issac has played for the wildcats for 4 years and is looking to go out with a bang his senior year.
Another outstanding player is sophomore guard, Ke’juan Anderson who is ranked in our Prep Hoops 2021 class in Nor Cal. With great footwork and elite guard skill Ke’juan uses his speed to blow by defenders and find open teammates. His play seems to find his peek when playing against some of the top teams in the state. If he can keep his on button on then the wildcats will have a great chance to keep up their winning season.
Right now they are ranked 5th in their San Joaquin division 2. They are also ranked as the 104th team in the state. Starting league play they will play against a good Del Oro team on January 4th and then against a top Ranked Folsom team on January 8th.
Here are some important stat lines for the wildcats.
Ryan King 2020- 11.3 ppg 7.2rpg with 225 points on the year. Great Inside threat, grabs rebounds and uses both hands to finish around the rim. Great strength and inside feel for a big.
Jacob Fink 9.1 ppg 3 rpg with 164 points on the year. Great motor with a good I.Q. Knocks down shots and can put them up in a hurry. is the teams second leading scorer.
Issac Ackermans 9.9ppg, 2apg, 3.8rpg with 169 points on the year. Heady point guard who makes plays and provides leadership. Will knock down the open shot but his main job is to create for others.
