There were also some college coaches in attendance to watch some of the best talent in the state of Tennessee.
Here are the results from the three best games of the MLK Classic:
White Station defeats Christian Brothers
The Spartans, led by senior forward Brandon Brown, defeated the Purple Wave, 60-55. Brown led White Station with 20 points. He also had some help from sophomore wing Willie Foreman and senior point guard Tyric Arnett-Allen. Foreman had 17, while Arnett-Allen added 10. Freshman point guard Chandler Jackson led the Purple Wave with 18 points. Reese McMullen and Harrison Kelly added 10 apiece. Bill Norton provided six points and eight rebounds.
Bartlett defeats Briarcrest
The Panthers held on to beat the Saints, 55-48. Jefferson Walker had 13 points to lead Bartlett. Antavion Collum provided 12. Sophomore point guard Kennedy Chandler led Briarcrest with 18 points, four rebounds, two steals, one block, and one assist. Junior forward Marcellus Brigham added 14.
Lausanne defeats Fayette Ware
The Lynx needed late free throws to get past the Wildcats, 55-51. Senior guard Sky Forest had 18 points, 12 rebounds, and four assists in the win. He made 11 of 12 shots from the free throw line, with two of them coming in the final seconds to seal the win. Jalen Bo Montgomery had 16 points, four rebounds, and three assists. Johnathan DeJurnett added 10 points and 13 boards. Freshman point guard Hayden Ledbetter, who’s starting in place of injured Alden Applewhite, pitched in seven points, three rebounds, and four assists.
Guard Jaylon Taylor led Fayette Ware with 15 points. Guards Tre Yates and Trent Waddell finished with 12 and 11 points, respectively. Yates picked up two technical fouls in less than two minutes, resulting in an ejection out of the game. When he went to the bench, Lausanne was up 48-44. The Lynx made 9 of 12 shots from the charity stripe to finish the game.
