Cox Mill HS wing Wendell Moore continues to make history in Cabarrus County, North Carolina. The Duke signee has added one more superlative to his closet today with the announcement that he is the lone player from North Carolina to be named to the McDonald’s All-American game.
Moore has recently broke the Cabarrus County all-time scoring record (with roughly 15 games left to play), he has helped Cox Mill HS to two-straight NCHSAA 3-A state titles, he is ranked in the top-20 in the country by most recruiting websites and played on Team CP3 this past AAU season.
Duke is getting a multi-dimensional player in Moore and a proven winner at every level that he has played. He is long and strong, he understands the game very well and has a smart head on his shoulders. He is a very good student and a pleasure to be around. He is a yes sir, no sir type of kid and has a bright future ahead.
Moore made his decision to attend Duke on October 9th, getting it done before the season officially kicked off. He chose The Blue Devils over North Carolina, Wake Forest and NC State. An all North Carolina final four.
Moore is the first player ever to be chosen for the prestigious game out of Cabbarus County. Moore is the third player from North Carolina to make the roster in the past two seasons joining Coby White (UNC) and Devon Dotson (Kansas) last season.
Moore had a very strong Beach Ball Classic on the Christmas break and I think that was what showed national media members again why Moore has to be selected for this game.
The 42nd McDonald’s All American Games will be held March 27 at State Farm Arena in Atlanta and will be broadcast on ESPN.
