Week Nine Games Of The Week:
Tuesday, January 22nd:
Olentangy Liberty (10-3) @ Hilliard Davidson (9-3):
Liberty coming off a tough upset loss against Olentangy Orange will look to get back in the win column. Still atop the OCC-Buckeye, the Patriots are led by big time WF Ben Roderick. Averaging about 30 points a game, the unsigned future D1 player can score it from anywhere. Hilliard Davidson is having a solid season. With just tough losses to Dublin Coffman and Upper Arlington, the Wildcats are right where they want to be. Anchored by Christian Gillian and Jacob Drees, the Hilliard Davidson – Olentangy Liberty game should be a good one.
Delaware Hayes (10-3) @ Thomas Worthington (10-3):
Hayes is having a really good season, in large part to the trio of players that put up big time numbers for them. Nate Griggs, Terin Kinsway and Paul Burris do big time work for the Pacers. Delaware will be looking to pick up another quality in-conference win. Thomas Worthington comes into the game having a better season then most would have imagined. Paced by two sophomores including Jalen Sullinger, Thomas Worthington is a fun young team to watch. This matchup should be one of the better games this week.
Friday, January 25th:
Fairbanks (10-2) @ West Jefferson (11-3):
Sitting at 10-2, the Panthers of Fairbanks are taking care of business this season. Fairbanks leading scorer, Cross Hackathorne has put in work for them. The Senior is averaging close to 14 PPG, with a good 6’5 frame. West Jefferson, another good team in the OHC, will be looking to pick up a quality win at home. After losing 58-48 in the first matchup, West Jeff should be better suited this time around. Senior Ben Casey will be the best player on the court, the unsigned Senior is putting up close to 20 PPG. One of the smaller school games, should be one of the best this week.
Saturday, January 26th:
Olentangy Liberty (10-3) @ Pickerington North (10-3):
One of the best matchups of the week will go down at Pickerington North. Liberty, with a couple tough games this week, can really prove to the area what they’re capable of. People think of Ben Roderick, but also watch out for Nick Nakasian the Senior is having a solid season. Averaging about 16 PPG on his final prep campaign. Pick North is fresh off of a big time win against Pickerington Central, where the took down the undefeated Tigers. Sophomore Jack Sawyer is a do-it-all big man for the Panthers, one of the best athletes that’s been around. This game should go the distance.
HIlliard Bradley (12-0) @ Newark (12-2):
In a battle of two of the best coaches in the area, this one should go the difference. Led by Junior standout Matt Allocco, Bradley will look to stay undefeated, even without injured Jack Pugh. Bradley relies on patient offense and an aggressive defense to win ball games. Newark suffered a tragic loss to undefeated Canal Winchester, but is still having a great season, sitting pretty at 12-2. Having ran through much of their schedule, Senior Keshawn Heard has been the leader for the Newark team this year. Averaging 13.5 to lead the Wildcats. It should be a good one in Newark Friday night, a well disciplined game.
