Week Ten Games Of The Week:
Tuesday January 29th –
Beechcroft (12-3) Vs. Northland (11-4):
In a City League battle, the top two teams in the North division will go to battle. With Beechcroft winning the December matchup 67-62, look for this one to be just as close. With big time league implications on the line, we should see it go down to the wire. Watch out for Beechcroft’s Na’Elle Simmons and Northland’s N’Keeley Elmore as standout players.
Columbus Academy (10-4) Vs. West Jefferson (12-4):
Academy has won seven of their last eight games, playing some balanced basketball. Led by D1 Brown football commit Chris Boyle, Columbus Academy will eye in on defeating a solid West Jefferson team. Losing two of the last three, West Jeff will look to get back on track in a big way. Standout player Ben Casey will carry the load, averaging a bit over 19 PPG on his Senior campaign.
Wednesday January 30th –
Worthington Christian (12-4) Vs. Johnstown (11-2):
Playing some great basketball of late, the Warriors from Worthington Christian will look to keep that going. Led by Freshman do-it-all guard DJ Moore, look for no shortage of offense. Johnstown is a solid team that will be ready to battle with Worthington Christian. West Liberty commit Owen Hazelbaker will look to lead the Johnstown to a quality win. The big man is having a great senior season, putting up 17 PPG.
Friday February 1st –
Reynoldsburg (13-3) Vs. Pickerington Central (16-1):
Reynoldsburg is having about a good as of a season as they could wish for behind Senior Ben Fort. At 13-3 the Raiders are rolling. Pickerington Central looks like they may be back to themselves after losing to Pick North. After losing a couple players to the transfer rule, the Tigers have found a diamond in the rough. Garner Wallace wasn’t getting much playing time, but since starting he’s averaging 20 PPG in his five starts, and a solid defender for Pick Central. This one should be a good game as Burg will look to pull the upset.
Fisher Catholic (10-5) Vs. Wellington (8-5):
Fisher Catholic is a smaller D4 power, but a solid team in their own right. Paced by then Daniel Turner averaging over 11 PPG. Winning the first matchup by 10 points, Wellington will look to do the same once again. Dallas Patrick has been one of the best scorers in the area for Wellington. Averaging over 26 PPG, the Senior is a threat to go off any night. This should be a solid Friday night matchup.
