Kearns upsets American Fork
In a game of inches AF was missing all 6’10 of them as Isaac Johnson couldn’t play as he is still nursing an injury he suffered in a tournament in California. Kearns and their “Big Three” took advantage early as they raced out to a 21-10 lead and never looked back. They combined for 46 points and all but 3 of them came in the paint. AF suffers it’s first loss of the season. Majok Kuath of Kearns is an interesting college prospect with a lot of upside. Emmanuel Andrew the New Mexico signee is electric. Kwo Agwa a 6’7 2019 kid is surprising prospect. Colleges need to look into him.
Skyridge upsets Timpanogos
Skyridge jumped on Timpanogos early and help the lead the entire game. Timpanogos cut it to 4 going into the fourth but that was as close as it got. Snoody, Reid and Allfrey balled out in this game. Timpanogos got a big game from Matt Norman but that was it. Skyridge is in control of their own destiny in Region 8.
Corner Canyon upsets Timpview
Many people might not think that this was an upset but Corner Canyon has been a bit inconsistent and Timpview is a good team. The Chargers dismantled the T-Birds by 21 points and held Nate Hansen to only 14 points. This was a must win game for CCHS as they could not afford to go 0-2 in region play. Welling and Toombs had great performances.
Springville upset Maple Mountain
This isn’t the first time this year that Springville has pulled off an upset as they beat Bountiful earlier this year. In a game where Maple Mountain only missed one free-throw it was enough to help Springville slip by in a one point victory. Springville could be a dark-horse in region 8.
