There are players of all talent levels in the area so college coaches shouldn’t think twice about dropping in and possibly filling whatever roster needs they may have.
Southern Lee HS Guard Khalil Ridges: He put together a very nice start to the season which included Tournament MVP honors at the Cumberland County Holiday Classic. Constantly playing with a high motor on both ends of the floor, he is a player that you love to have on your team night in and night out. The 6’1 Guard as of now has picked up some JUCO and D3 interest, a strong finish to the season should only help with his recruitment.
Freedom Christian Wing Brandon Murray: His specialty is three point shooting, and although he hasn’t put up his best numbers this season, he’s had some good performances and some moments where he showed his potential.
Jack Britt HS Guard Braden Hayden: A player that is only scratching the surface of his potential but has a chance to be really good when it’s all said and done. He can facilitate for a team, defend at a decent level and score the ball at a fair rate, smaller JUCO programs have begun to take notice and rightfully so.
Pine Forest HS Forward Miles Ray: His play has been tremendous this season, averaging 18 Points and 6 Rebounds a night, he’s showing why he is a legit college prospect. JUCO programs have been keeping an eye on him throughout the season and we feel that can be the perfect route for him. One of the more athletic players in the area, we saw a play this season where he actually hit his head on the backboard attempting to finish a dunk.
Hoke County PG Eli Harris: With the departure of a high amount of players from last year’s team due to graduation, we knew he would have a much different role this season and he’s stepped up in a nice way. Averaging 15 Points and 5 assist per game, he has picked up some D3 and NAIA interest/offers, he spends plenty of time in the gym working on his craft so he will only get better.
Overhills HS Forward Jaylen Moore: We were impressed with his play when we got the opportunity to see him play during the summer and fall seasons in camps. He is playing somewhat out of position with his high school team which is the cause for his numbers being lower but he is still a player that smaller colleges should keep an eye on.
Smithfield Selma HS Guard Anthony Council: This youngster has been absolutely putting on a scoring clinic all season long with some monster numbers. He’s averaging just under 29 points per game, he has nice speed/quickness and gets where he wants to on the floor by using that.
