The Man in the Middle
Frisco Wakeland big man Austin Lewis is a 6-foot-10 long lanky junior that plays with energy on both ends of the floor. Lewis did a good job of using his length and athleticism to alter and block shots versus Frisco High School. He also showed the ability to finish over smaller defenders on the offensive end near the basket. Lewis still needs to get stronger to be able to score more consistently on the inside.
Wakeland’s Backcourt
I must say that I haven’t been keeping up with the players from Frisco Wakeland’s basketball team aside from forward Austin Lewis. Wakeland sophomore guards Xavier Gaffney and Cooper Sisco form a talented young backcourt. Gaffney has tight handles, good speed with the ball in his hands, and a solid enough shooter to keep the defender honest. Sisco is a talented young shooter that has a quick release and doesn’t need much room to get his shot off. The Wakeland sophomore duo is one that the Prep Hoops Texas staff will make sure to keep a close eye on.
Other Standouts…
•2020 PG Kobe Jones Frisco High is a talented pass first point guard, that sees floor well. Jones didn’t shoot the ball well, but was able to impact the game with his facilitating ability.
Diaper Dandy
•2022 Guard Michael Niemann Frisco Wakeland is a baby face shooter that has a nice looking stroke, with a good feel for the game.
