Edgar Ziegler – Carrollwood Day: Ziegler scored 21 points in the win, doing it by playing the patience game. At no time does he seem rushed or not-in-control. The senior wing penetrates the paint well & fights through contact on the way to the cup. His jumper is solid, can hit the elbow-J with ease, as well as from three-point range. Ziegler would definitely be an asset to a program willing to take the leap.
Keshawn Fuller – Canterbury: This junior guard made his impact using pure hustle. Fuller’s a speedy guard, whose energy on-court could be noticed from anywhere. He rattled ball-handlers using some aggressive on-ball defense. On cross-court passes, he’ll sprint to break-up the toss before it reaches the player. Definitely appreciated his fight to not give up on the play.
Malcolm Whitlow – Carrollwood Day: The senior guard led his Patriots with 22 points in the win. Loved his res of the hesitation/power-dribble to get open and hit tough shots. He’s another guy who doesn’t mind taking contact on the way to the rim. Whitlow has a bit of the clutch gene in him, as he’s able to convert and-ones & hit buzzer-beaters to end the quarter. Any school that takes Whitlow would be getting a great competitor.
Rivers Lenholt – Canterbury: Lenholt carried the load for his Crusaders, notching 19 points and enduring a rolled ankle during the game. The junior guard is another guy who feels comfortable taking it to the rack, and is athletic enough to give you a side-step or Euro to finish the job. In the paint, he has good vision & makes the extra pass for easy buckets. Lenholt hit three treys in the game, as well. Look out for him in the coming year, still a lot more room for growth.
Tony Livingston – Carrollwood Day: This 6’6” freshman was tough to contain in the first half, earning eight of his 10 points during the first two periods. He did a great job of running the floor and establishing post-position. With so much time until 2022, his ceiling is tremendously high. Excited to see what the future holds for the young big man.
