Bryce Thompson 2020 Booker T. Washington Guard
Thompson is the best shooter in the state of Oklahoma and he showed why this weekend. The way Thompson plays on the court with an extremely high basketball IQ helps him to shoot a higher percentage. Of course, even if Thompson was shooting bad shots with the skills he has he would still be a pretty good shooter but it helps that he makes sure he gets good open looks at the cup. Thompson is going to make a High Major NCAA Division I program very happy when he signs the dotted line next fall.
Tristian Hines 2019 Jenks Point Guard
Hines is a prospect who teams forget about from time to time due to his ability to pass the ball and see the floor. Just about the time, the defense falls asleep, Hines rises and hits from three-point range. The shooting of Hines will be very key in the playoff run for Jenks.
Trey Phipps 2020 Booker T. Washington Guard
Phipps found his stride from three-point land this weekend. When Phipps is on he is one of the toughest to stop from behind the arc in the state of Oklahoma. Consistency from Phipps shooting the ball will be very key in the Hornets shot at the Class 6A Gold Ball.
Micah Thomas 2019 PC North Point Guard
If Thomas was open from distance the ball was going up this weekend. When he was on fire Friday night Thomas kept the Panthers in the game against one of the best teams in the state, Booker T. Washington. In the first half of the third place game, Thomas was off just a tad. He went into the locker room and came out blazing with one of the best halves of basketball you can have from deep. If the Panthers are going to make the State Tournament to defend their title they will need Thomas to shoot it well from deep.
Taylor Williams 2019 Edmond Santa Fe Guard
Williams is a player that is really starting to step his game up for the Wolves. Over this year Williams has transformed into a reliable three-point sniper. The ability to catch and shoot with consistency has put Williams in the starting lineup. He also can put the ball on the floor making his game even more dangerous.
Jaylen O’Conner 2019 Edmond Santa Fe Wing
O’Conner is Mr. Relaible for Edmond Santa Fe. One of the biggest reasons he took home the MVP trophy this weekend from the tournament was his ability to make jumpers from three-point and mid-range. Colleges are starting to see the potential in O’Conner at the next level as a three and defense guy.
Michael McHenry 2019 Booker T. Washington Wing
McHenry has a quick trigger from the three-point line getting the shot off before the defense can close on him. The Hornets do not give him the ball a ton, but when he does get his opportunities McHenry cashes in. If Booker T. Washington wins Class 6A do not be surprised when McHenry hits a few big shots down the stretch to help the Hornets to victory.
Donovan Vickers 2020 Edmond Santa Fe Point Guard
Vickers is a low volume shooter at the Point Guard spot. Primarily Vickers focuses on getting his teammates involved however when he sees an opening for a high percentage shot Vickers has become very good at making the defense pay. This weekend he hit several dagger three-pointers in the semis and finals.
