Ike Houston 2020 Jenks Guard
Houston is the definition of a “Glue Guy.” He came up huge throughout the weekend for Jenks making the small plays that do not always go down as a stat in the scorebook. On-ball defense was an area he impacted the game bringing great intensity to the floor. Finding loose balls is what he was best at finding a way to come up with the basketball. When he had opportunities he came up huge scoring, rebounding, and grabbing steals. The clear cut best thing Houston brought to the floor was his vision to spot the open man and execution to get the ball on the money to his teammates.
Marc Gouldsby Holland Hall
I really enjoyed watching Gouldsby at the Jenks/Union Invitational. The heart and hustle of Gouldsby is their full force at all times he is on the floor. He was great at giving his team second-chance opportunities on the boards. The unselfish mentality of Gouldsby on offense led to great team success scoring the basketball.
Jeff Nwankwo 2021 PC North Wing
Nwankwo does a nice job of doing what he can to help his team win games. The opportunities he receives at PC North are to use to length on defense creating havoc. On a team that lacks size, Nwankwo fills the role of rebounding the basketball. He did not shoot the ball a bunch but did shoot a high percentage on the shots he took. Nwankwo will be an interesting prospect to watch fill out and develop over the next few years.
Seth Hurd 2019 Booker T. Washington Forward
Hurd was big for Booker T. Washington in so many areas this weekend he was the best Glue Guy without a doubt. The effort Hurd brings to the boards is tremendous. When Booker T. Washington put the ball in Hurd’s hands down low he was super efficient scoring the basketball at a high clip. Hurd is a very important piece to Booker T. Washington winning the Gold Ball.
Michael McHenry 2019 Booker T. Washington Wing
McHenry plays a lot at the Forward spot for Booker T. Washington giving them minutes as an undersized prospect. The heart he brings to the court is something you just can not coach. McHenry helps the Hornets big time by stretching the floor with great three-point shooting. As a catch and shoot guy, McHenry is money.
Nehemiah Boykins 2020 Union Wing
Boykins is starting to turn the corner on the hardwood for the Redskins. He did a great job this weekend of being the star of his role. When open he took shots and hit a good chunk of them. The extra effort on hustle plays Boykins made really stood out. He did a nice job rebounding the basketball from the Wing.
