6’4, G/SF Ren Dyer (North Buncombe HS)-Excellent rebounder for his size, above average nose for the basketball, can make the 3-point shot and mid-range scorer, just needs repitition;loves to attack the offensive and defensive glass, EXTREMELY tough, makes winning plays, a coach’s dream, will have to cut his heart out in order to beat him. Averaged 27 pts and 12 Rebounds in HS junior campaign. Had 53 points and 18 rebounds in a game a few weeks ago.
6’9, F Ben Beeker (Hendersonville HS)-Strong/Skilled Big man, soft touch around the rim, extremely fundamentally sound, above average passer of the basketball, runs the floor well; can score from the perimeter; does a good job of rebounding and altering shots. Has a 4.5 GPA.
6’0, PG Raishaun Brown (Asheville Christian)-Able to get to wherever he wants on he floor; smart, high IQ basketball player; crafty finisher; strong build; strong defender; needs to shoot it a little more consistently.
6’3, G DeAngelo Elliott (Carolina Day)-Long, one of the best shooters in this region, can really get it going from deep, plays hard and really brings a strong component on defense with his length, gets a lot of deflections; good defender that is hard to get around.; has steadily worked and in my opinion has to be at the mid-major Level; can really get it going from outside;
6’0, G Devin Elliott (Carolina Day)-Has made tremendous strides this off-season; has built his body into a college prospect; great handle; pushes the ball; very good shooter; really good at penetrating defenses and scoring or finding the right pass; good defender with long arms; I like this kid because he has improved each time I have seen him; keeps getting better.
6’1, G Jake Smith (Enka HS)-Smart; high basketball IQ; skilled passer; good vision; very athletic; strong upper body; plays hard on both ends; has made tremendous leaps since joining up with Team SC. Recently surpassed the 1,000 career point mark.
5’10, G Matt Halvorsen (Christ School)-Plays the combo guard slot for his high school team , can shoot it from deep when he’s playing the SG spot and can run a team when they move him to the PG spot. Where he makes the most impact is on the defensive end of the floor, he’s a physical defender but also quick laterally.
