DaRon Holmes (Millennium 2021)
Holmes has been on an absolute tear this year. He’s averaging 17.7 points per game and 9 rebounds per game. He has to be the most exciting prospect in the Class of 2021, already racking up some major offers. If he keeps up this high level of play, he will certainly rack up some more.
Tanner Mayer (Sunrise Mountain 2020)
This kid in new on my radar and certainly deserves some more attention. He is a 6’5 pure muscle low post threat. He is currently averaging 15 points per game, while averaging 8.3 rebounds per game. He is a dangerous player on the block, using a versatile skill set.
Dominic Gonzalez (Ironwood 2020)
Gonzalez is typically a guard but starts at the 3 position for Ironwood, which is why he is on this list rather than the Top Guards list. Gonzalez has picked up right where he left off last season, scoring the ball at will. He recently had a huge game against Sunnyslope, where he dropped 27 points. He currently averages 17 points per game on the season.
Carson Towt (Gilbert 2019)
Carson Towt is my front runner for breakout player of the year so far. He is 6’7 and can work you either on the block or face you up. He has a great passing ability from the block, which I am a big fan of all bigs having that skill. He is smart and has some great low post moves, he is a huge reason for Gilbert’s success this season.
Cassius Carmichael (Ironwood 2019)
Towt may be my front runner for breakout player of the year, if anyone is going to give him a run for his money at that award, it’s this kid. Carmichael has done surprisingly well playing the 5 despite his 6’4 height and slim build. He uses an unorthodox approach to get to the basket and is relentless on the boards. Cassius does a little bit of everything, averaging 14 points per game and 9 rebounds per game.
