Trendon Watford (Mountain Brook): Watford has had a big week. He was named a McDonald’s All-American, set the state record for rebounds, and lead his team to three victories. In the Hotbed Classic matched up against Memphis East and James Wiseman, Watford stole the show. In the final 2 minutes of the game, Trendon was determined to get the win. Watford finished with 18-11-6 and was named MOP.
Alex Washington (Mountain Brook): The senior has stepped up his play with Mountain Brook playing without their starting point guard. Against Memphis East, Washington was the perfect compliment to Watford in the post. Alex finished with 17 points (5-9 from 3).
Cameron Tucker (Wenonah): Tucker was the MOP from his matchup as he finished with 18-5-3. What stands out from his performance, is the game winning 3 point shot he hit at the buzzer. Off a full court pass, Tucker turned and fired the game winner. When Tucker is at his best, he is arguably one of the best point guards in the state.
Koby Tinker (Plainview): Tinker leads Plainview, as they are focused on making a deep state run. Saturday, Tinker showed off a smooth shooting stroke going 7-14 from 3. He finished the game with a line of 28-3-3. Koby was named MOP for Plainview at the Hotbed Classic.
Brody Peebles (Hartselle): Peebles has been very impressive for Hartselle. The sophomore has been their best player and does not shy away from leading his team. Saturday, Brody finished with 25 points and was named Morgan County Tournament MVP.
JD Davison (Calhoun): Davison is only a sophomore, and already generates enormous buzz. Saturday, JD finished with 32-7-7. He scored at will from all three levels. What stood out was a transition between the legs dunk that sent the crowd into a frenzy.
Jayden Stone (Sacred Heart): In three games at the Calhoun Co Tournament, Stone scored 78 points, grabbed 22 rebounds, and dished out 18 assists. Jayden finished the tournament as the MVP and averaged 26-7-6 over three games.
Duke Miles (Lee-Montgomery): Duke is one of the state’s best two way players. His impact is always felt on both ends of the court. The 2020 point guard lead his team to a win with 18 points, 10 boards, 7 steals, and 6 assists.
Roc Taylor (Oxford): Roc is one the most improved 2021 prospects. He’s worked hard on his game to become well rounded. Saturday in a win over Sacred Heart, Taylor posted 16-13-4 and was named to the All County Team.
