At 20 wins before February, Sweetwater High is one of the best AA teams in the entire state.  The Associated Press ranks the Wildcats 4th.  For the fourth week of January, Sweetwater High earned the honor of @PrepHoopsTN Team of the Week!

Sweetwater Head Coach Jeremy Henderson and three special senior guards deserve recognition.

Seniors Dominique Oggs, Kolbe Billingsley, and Matthew Kile account for most of the scoring and much of the rebounding.

In addition to his 22 ppg, bouncy Dominique Oggs (PrepHoopsTN #87 in 2019) pulls down 11 rebounds per night.  The wing is a tremendous athlete that seemingly summons greatness nightly.

Sweetwater pulled away with 50.44% of the vote.

Oggs is a boxscore dream: 4 assists per, 3 blocks per, 2.5 steals per game at 6-foot-4.

At 6-foot-1 Matthew Kile is putting up 14, 5, 5 and like Oggs he is receiving college interest.

Kolbe Billingsley, also a senior guard records 17 points each game out.  Kolbe knocks down an impressively high 42% from the three-point arc.

Coach Henderson is able to deliver some context many of his young players have merely heard whispers about.
“Sweetwater Basketball hasn’t had a year like this since the mid 90’s when they won a state championship, and (Sweetwater High) was a powerhouse in football and basketball in the early to mid 90’s,” said Coach Henderson.  “Our players weren’t even born, but I remember those teams because I grew up five minutes from Alcoa High School and they were district rivals.”
His memories of those teams are brought to the fore after Sweetwater’s recent success.

“Some of the best games I watched as a kid came from those Alcoa versus Sweetwater games,” shared Coach Henderson.  “Been a crazy, but exciting few days for our kids!”
