Here is a look at some 2021 prospects that have been off to a roaring start here in 2018-19.
ICYMI:
Moussa Diabate (DME)
Earning offers beginning in the summer of 2017, the 6’10” France native Moussa Diabate is always bringing his length, tenacity and toughness to the plate. A gifted shooter, Diabate isn’t afraid to get inside and draw contact. He’s even asked to play point guard at times for his DME squad with his impressive ball skills. Diabate has offers from Auburn, Creighton, Tulane, Illinois, Miami, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, Memphis and UNLV. Expect that number to increase plenty before this summer.
Deebo Coleman (West Nassau)
Given his mature style of play, Deebo Coleman could very well finish his high school career as one of the best combo guards in the country. The 6’5″ slasher is flourishing once again for West Nassau. Even more so than his freshman campaign, Coleman has come on strong and isn’t showing signs of slowing down anytime soon. The sophomore leader holds offers from Georgia Tech, Georgetown, UF, Iowa State and UNF already.
Walter Clayton (Lake Wales)
Super enjoyable to watch because of his combination of basketball smarts and pure speed, Lake Wales guard Walter Clayton looks like a tremendous contributor at the next level. Earning an offer from USF in June, the 6’2″ point man seems to always be helping his teammates out and finding open lanes for him to run and shoot.
Trey Moss (Windermere)
Giving Windermere a ton of energy and life, Trey Moss is really thriving for the Wolverines this season. The 6’1″ guard earned a trio of offers from USF, FGCU and FAU prior to the start of his sophomore season. A developed attacker, Moss takes defense seriously and is really good in transition as a jump shooter.
Jarveil Gainey (Trinity Catholic)
The upside for Jarveil Gainey is tremendous. The 6’1″ guard has been everything and more for Trinity Catholic this season. A reliable outside shooter as a freshman, Gainey has expanded his game and is working on his pump fakes and moves inside. His floater game and lay-ins are getting better each week. Gainey has three offers currently Bethune Cookman, Southeastern Louisiana and UNF.
Emmanuel Maldonado (Downey Christian)
Certainly making a name for himself as a shooter and overall athlete, 6’3″ guard Emmanuel Maldonado has been very solid for Downey Christian. Making the switch over from Colonial High, the sophomore is long, speedy and a smart shooter. Maldonado is just hitting the peak of his ability as he works to improve his attacking and all-around game. He owns one offer from Bethune Cookman.
