Player Breakdown
Pierce Hellums • 6’2” • SG • Tomball Concordia Lutheran • 2019
I love the senior guard’s unselfish approach to the game. He did not shoot the ball as well as he usually does from deep, but the game was heavily affected by his passing. Hellums made the right decisions with the ball in his hands in the half court set and in the open floor. He also got by the defense and finished craftly around the basket with hard-to-block scoop lay-ins. The Sam Houston State signee will be adored by the coaching staff because of how he plays extremely hard on both ends to win. Hellums finished the game with 16 points, eight assists, and three steals.
Montavious Murphy • 6’8” • PF • Tomball Concordia Lutheran • 2019
Murphy has been a beast on the glass all season. He has bought into the Crusader system and has been making his presence felt inside and out. His size and skill will continue to give the Crusaders an advantage over district and playoff competition. It is great to see the Kansas State signee having fun playing within himself. He ended the game with 13 points, seventeen boards, and four assists.
Evan Palmquist • 6’2” • SG • Tomball Concordia Lutheran • 2019
The transfer senior guard did a great job of knocking down shots off the catch from behind the arc and finding his teammates for scores. He added 14 points, three assists and two steals in the district victory. Palmquist has been playing well this season and his efforts have earned himself his first Division I offer from Navy.
Anderson Kopp • 6’2” • SG • Tomball Concordia Lutheran • 2019
Kopp was letting it go from behind the arc. The unsigned swingman has great size and a strong build to go along with a great stroke from deep. He drilled five threes in the contest and finished with a team high 24 points. Kopp will be signing late in the spring and currently holds offers from Milwaukee and Stephen F. Austin.
