Don’t look now, but they are getting healthy and continue to improve. After seeing Skyline play multiple times this season, I’m confident in saying that they are a district and regional championship caliber team. They are disciplined, talented, and well coached.
Here is a breakdown of the Ann Arbor Skyline roster:
Ashay Arora (2021, PG)
Arora served spot duty in the backcourt for Skyline. He’s a talented kid who has an incredibly bright future in high school basketball. From what I’ve seen, Arora plays his role and makes very few errors. Perfect for this team.
Alex Batalonga (2019, G)
Batalonga is another talented and athletic component off the bench who is ready if called upon.
Kabir Bergin (2020, F)
Bergin is a top 20 player in the class of 2020. His versatility on both ends make him incredibly valuable. He can attack the glass in the paint and score with a mid range jumper or with his back to the basket.
Chris Cayton (2021, PG)
Cayton is a very talented lead guard. He’s young and has a lot of development in front of him, but the pieces are all there. Cayton has quick feet and takes care of the ball. He’s not asked to score a ton this year, but has the skills to do so if needed.
Jaylin Cooper (2019, G)
Cooper has been quiet recently, but it’s just a matter of time. He has next level potential. Cooper could work his way into being a huge component to a championship team.
Dinalli DeLoach (2021, F)
DeLoach hasn’t seen big minutes in the games that I’ve seen, but as a sophomore, he’s a very talented kid with a big future. DeLoach is a player that could step on the court when needed and make an impact.
Robert Malcom Jr. (2019, G)
I’ve been very impressed with Malcom Jr. He has played great in transition, showing the ability to lead the break or finish from the wing. I greatly underestimated his athleticism. Malcom Jr. could have a big say in Skyline’s success this season.
Spencer Morgan (2019, C)
This kid could develop into a real weapon. Morgan has proven that he can be incredibly disciplined and efficient in tbe paint. Morgan is tough on the glass too. He’s a physical player who isn’t afraid to put a body on someone.
DeSean Munson (2019, F)
Munson is one of the top pure athletes around. He plays above the rim and both sides of the floor. Munson is an elite rim protector and one of the top finishers in the state. Munson runs the floor with ease which makes him dangerous in transition.
Davion Pipkins (2019, G)
Pipkins is an ATHLETE. He’s strong and fast, and usually the first guy back on the defensive end. Pipkins is quick off the floor, making him a rebounding threat on the perimeter.
Ryan Wade (2019, SG)
Wade is a bona fide star and one of the best players in Michigan. He uses his length to make him a weapon defensively. Wade is multi level scorer and an elite shooter from behind the arc. He’s the type of player that can lead a team to a very memorable season.
Jack Williams (2021, G/F)
Williams is another talented underclassmen at Skyline. He’s another option for them off the bench. Williams is steady and finds a way to contribute, whether it be a rebound, a bucket, or on the defensive end.
