Continue ReadingMost highs schools would be fortunate to get one tower of power but Marshall High School has been blessed with a pair. They are twins 6’6 Jack and 6’8 Jeremy Luciani. Both have committed to play next season at Indiana Tech but their focus now is getting Marshall to revenge last season’s regional final loss and get to the Breslin Center.
JACK LUCIANI –
What did you both do to prepare for this season? We played soccer in the fall, which helps a lot with conditioning. We also got in the gym to lift and get lots of shots up. Playing AAU all spring/summer also helps us to play at a higher level.
Did you play on a travel team, if so, which one? Yes, The Lansing Prospectors – we played with them all throughout high school
What are your team goals this season? Win the conference and make a deep run in the state tournament
What are your individual goals for this season? Do everything that my team needs me to do to win as many games as we possibly can. It doesn’t matter how many points I score as long as I am crashing the boards, working on defense and making hustle plays to help my team win.
What do you think is your best asset on the floor? My speed and finishing ability on the fast break, aggressive, competitive, and strong rebounder and defender
Can you each describe your brothers personality? Or is there a funny story you would like to share about growing up as twins? He is very hard working and fun to be around on and off the court. He brings positivity to situations. He’s more laid back than I am. He holds me accountable on the court, which is good
Who is your favorite basketball player and why? (Pro or college) Zion Williamson. He is just an absolute animal. He always works hard to be the best. He is so fun to watch play.
Who is the best team you have played against? The Family
Who is the best player you have played against? Romeo Weems
What are you plans for the next season? Going to play at Indiana Tech (Ft Wayne) and study Exercise Science
Is there is one regular season game that you look forward to playing? A Rival? East Lansing, we’ve never played them during the season before
How do you each get motivated before each game? Music and get loud and excited with my team
What’s your favorite subject in school? Anatomy
Have you thought about what you would like to do for a career? If so, what? Planning to major in exercise science and go on to PT school
JEREMY LUCIANI –
What did you both do to prepare for this season? Played a lot of basketball. Got in the gym and lifted and did drills a lot. Conditioning was playing soccer August-October.
Did you play on a travel team, if so, which one? Lansing Prospectors
What are your team goals this season? To get better every day and make a deep playoff run
What are your individual goals for this season? My goal is to do whatever it takes to help my team win. I want to get better and help my team get better so we can succeed together
What do you think is your best asset on the floor? My size and versatility. I can do a lot like drive, shoot, post up. I can play the 2 or 3 position, which makes me hard to guard at 6’8”
Can you each describe your brothers personality? Or is there a funny story you would like to share about growing up as twins? Extremely hard working and always looking to get better. He’s funny and easy to talk to. He’s competitive and can be intense. All around a great person who is fun to be around.
Who is your favorite basketball player and why? (Pro or college) Lebron James – his work ethic and he is able to keep getting better, that’s incredible. It’s inspiring to see someone so passionate about the game.
Who is the best team you have played against? The Family – AAU
Who is the best player you have played against? Romeo Weems – he’s extremely athletic and skilled and he continues to get better. He’ll be a problem for opponents at the next level
What are you plans for the next season? Going to Indiana Tech to play basketball
Is there is one regular season game that you look forward to playing? A Rival? East Lansing – a lot of my teammates from AAU are on the team and hopefully it’ll be a great game.
How do you each get motivated before each game? Listen to music usually
What’s your favorite subject in school? Math
Have you thought about what you would like to do for a career? If so, what? I hope to be somewhere in the business works making good money
