The 6-foot-6, 185-pound forward is long, athletic, and he has ability to make all the necessary plays on the basketball floor. The junior has been doing that this season for Wilsonville High School but even with a quality win over Parkrose at home on Tuesday night, Reber is still striving for more.
“I felt like we played well but we were really loose with the ball and we weren’t getting into our offense,” Reber said. “So we’ve got to work on that for next game.”
Reber had quite the individual game for the Wildcats. Of his 16 points scored on the night, four of them were off dunks but he also stepped outside the arc and knocked down an open three. He was active on the glass grabbing eight rebounds and was a factor with interior defense. Reber has continued to hear from college coaches, notably Pepperdine, Eastern Washington, Seattle University, Cal State Northridge, and Abilene Christian, and schools have been watching for maximum effort from him.
“I feel like it’s been coming along well but I’ve got a lot to work on though,” Reber said. “I’m working on my shooting and my perimeter game. I need to get a consistent motor and have a complete game.”
Wilsonville is cruising along and is likely considered the favorite for the 5A state title. Reber isn’t taking anything for granted though. He’s still working hard and while remaining confident, knows that there is still plenty for him and his teammates to do.
“I think we’re doing pretty well but we’ve got to keep on working on our stuff so that at the end of the year we don’t make the same mistakes that we made earlier in the year,” Reber said. “I’m playing alright but I couldn’t do it without my teammates.”
Reber currently ranks as the #4 player in the PrepHoops Oregon Class of 2020 rankings.
