Temple committed and signed to IUPUI during the early signing period, but the 6-foot-1 guard isn’t the only Mustang receiving interest from college coaches.
Senior point guard Cameron Goodwin was offered by Community Christian College, a junior college in Lancaster, South Carolina, during the early hours on Tuesday, Jan. 15. Goodwin is only 5-8, but he plays hard on both ends of the court. He’s not afraid of contact. Goodwin’s toughness is what has gotten him to this point of his high school basketball career.
Senior forward Kenneth Lewis talked to Northeast Mississippi Community College head coach Cord Wright after Center Hill’s 78-62 road win Tuesday night against Hernando. Lewis played a great game offensively, finishing with 17 points, eight rebounds, and three steals.
Junior forward Decorian Payton and sophomore forward Kaeden Laws took an unofficial visit on Jan. 12 to Mississippi Valley State. Both players can easily fill up the stats sheet. In the win over the Tigers, Payton finished with 11 points, six rebounds, and two steals. Laws added 10 points, nine rebounds, and three steals. Laws made 7 of 10 shots from the free throw line.
Payton and Laws already have one offer apiece. Payton was offered by Coahoma Community College back on Dec. 19, 2018. Laws picked up his first Division 1 offer from IUPUI after the Mustangs defeated Whitehaven, 64-63, at home on Dec. 11, 2018. Laws is receiving interests from Ole Miss, Memphis, and Southeastern Louisiana.
As of right now, senior point guard Kevin Henry isn’t getting any other looks after picking up his first college offer from Lemoyne-Owen College on the same night Laws picked up his first D1 offer.
