- John Shoulders, Hart County – While he’s not going to blow you away with measurables, Shoulders is very skilled and just knows how to get things done. Averaging 26 points and 7 rebounds, John is doing everything he can to lift Hart County out of mediocrity this year. Some NAIA or D3 school would get a nice player with the 6’2 guard.
- Rodriguez Thomas, Paducah Tilghman – Thomas is an excellent shooter who could be a specialist at the next level. The 6’2 guard is putting up shooting splits of 52/41/86 while averaging 14 points per game. Some D2 school would be wise to make a play for Thomas before signing day in the spring.
- Cameron Wilson, Valley – One of the best players in Louisville that never gets talked about, Wilson continues to produce against some of the toughest competition in the state. Wilson has missed a couple of games this year but is averaging over 17 points per game while playing a tough schedule.
- Diablo Stewart, Scott County – Stewart has stepped up in the absence of Michael Moreno and could be the quickest team in the state with the basketball in his hands. Since the Moreno injury, Diablo has started putting together 20+ point games and becoming a better leader by limiting his hot headed moments that have troubled him in years past.
- James Nicholas, Hopkinsville – The leading scorer for the Tigers, Nicholas is enjoying a healthy Senior year after suffering some injury plagued younger years. The 6’4 wing is still a good athlete who will not hesitate to dunk on the opposition. James has shown a good shooting stroke this season as he makes 40% from 3.
- Donnie Miller, Newport – Donnie is a shifty point guard who can score the ball at all 3 levels with efficiency and gets his teammates involved. If I were a D2 or NAIA school looking for a point guard, I would find my way into the gym at Newport in the next couple of weeks.
- Jonathan Tillman, Frankfort – One of the few post players available at this point in the year, Tillman is a skilled post scorer who can be a really good small college player if he went that way. Tillman is averaging a double-double at 13 points and 10 rebounds while shooting 55% from the field. If there is a glaring weakness in his game, it’s at the free throw line where he shoots 52%.
- Walter Johnson Jr., Ballard – Coming off a Junior season where he barely played at Trinity, Johnson is having a good year for the Bruins. Averaging 17 points per game against the schedule Ballard plays is impressive. He’s a better shooter than his percentages may lead you to believe. Walter has some small college offers and could be a D2 level player now or end up at a good juco for a year or two and try to make the D1 level down the line.
